Jefferson County United Way Donor Privacy and Data Security Policy

In order to thank donors and process donations, United Way collects and stores the following information: donor’s name, spouse’s name, address, telephone number, email address and gift amount. Additionally, names and email addresses of website visitors requesting electronic communication, are stored and added to the organization’s email list. All donor information, managed by the Jefferson County United Way, is confidential. United Way does not distribute, sell or rent the personal information of its donors or their gifts to any outside entity. All donor information is maintained in a secure database. Data maintained in paper form is stored in a secure area.

United Way does not receive or store credit card data through its online giving system.  A professional technology firm is used to ensure the security and integrity of our computer systems.  Access to all software is limited to staff and requires individual log-in credentials. All staff members have signed a confidentiality agreement.

The privacy policy may be updated and changed as needed. A current copy of this policy will be maintained on the Jefferson County United Way website.
